Bussani Mobility Team wants to help people with physical disabilities make their voices heard. So on September 14 (10am-5pm) and September 15 (10am-4pm) at our annual ?Independence and Mobility Fair,? applications for voter registration forms and absentee ballots will be available, along with information about accessible voting machines. The event will take place at Bussani Mobility, 500 Central Avenue, Bethpage, NY.
The fair attracts hundreds of people living with physical disabilities, their friends and families to learn about all types of accessibility products and services to help them be more independent and make their lives easier. More than 30 organizations and exhibitors will be on hand with displays of home modifications, wheelchairs, scooters, lifts, adaptive equipment and services, and so much more. On Saturday, the young people will enjoy a Kid?s Carnival Corner with wheelchair accessible games, crafts, balloon animals, face painting, and even a red carpet fashion show. And there will be fabulous food, valet parking, and raffles with great prizes.
FREE 45-minute accessibility workshops will run throughout the two-day event. Some of the topics will include: accessible travel, good health and fitness, canine companions, veteran?s benefits and services, home modifications, legal and financial services, wheelchair sports, and since October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, vocational training and employment tips. FREE wheelchair tune-ups will also be provided by certified mobility specialists.
